Press/media law:

The expertise of the firm is often requested on matters related to the protection of personal rights, false representation and insulting and defamatory criticism. For example, it may be necessary to protect a person whose name is likely to become publicly known in an ongoing investigation without definitive conclusion, and which could result in the corresponding "pillory effect".

Due to the rapid increase in the volume of personal data becoming publicly accessible through various media, especially the internet, press law and freedom-of-speech issues are becoming increasingly important. Internet forums/review portals may be held liable for the content supplied by their users. In many cases, this leads to legal action being taken against search engines, e.g. Google (auto-complete function).

In this area of law too, a prompt reaction is often required, usually by way of warning notices or injunctions and, where appropriate, by way of the right of reply.
